About Priscilla Reyes Luna

I’m a driven and dedicated student with a passion for wrestling big ideas. My love for learning has spanned all of my life — it’s something that I pursue every single day. Whether I’m reading a book or the latest scientific discoveries, my ability to intertwine ideas and find complex relationships is a reflection of this life-long habit. My goal is to give back to the writers and thinkers that made me who I am by becoming a thought leader in the scientific community.

My motivation to pursue a bachelor’s in biophysics traces back to my first math class in the United States. I had just moved from the Dominican Republic the summer before the 7th grade, and attending school was my first immersive experience in the language. Yet despite the language barrier, my teacher Ms. Eisenhower, ingrained in me a sense of fascination in abstract mathematical concepts that stayed with me since. Then, my 12th grade physics teacher, Mr. Sexton, helped to shape my strong work ethic and self-motivated nature. Their impact has been long-lived, as I’m now 27 years old and returning to pursue the love of science they nurtured.
